J.V. Farmers' Market

Getting excited for the Jocko Valley Farmers' Market to begin?  It's just three weeks away.  I have attached the dinner menu and music for June.  Check it out!  Remember we are always looking for volunteers to help serve dinner and help set up and take down tables, chairs and signs for the market.  If you are able to help out anytime this summer, please contact Kelley at 726-5550.

Bison Management Meeting Set for May 15 in Kalispell

FWP will be host a public meeting in Kalispell on May 15 at the Red Lion Inn (20 N. Main Street) to discuss bison management. The meeting runs from 6-9 p.m. and is part of a first step toward developing a long-term bison conservation and management plan for the state.   The bison management plan will be developed through a 3-year environmental analysis which will address issues associated with bison and options for their long-term management as a Montana wildlife species.

Student Artist Open House

Wednesday, May 9th the After School Art Program held an open house of  the student's artwork they created through the instruction of artists Buck Morigeau, Melanie Sandoval and Rose Gurule.  We are grateful to SKC HeartLines Project for funding this special project, and as always to the O.P. and W.E. Edwards Foundation for their ongoing support of our Arlee CDC After School Art Program.

The Market will be on Wednesdays from 4-7pm beginning June 6st and running through September 26th  next to The Hangin Art Gallery on Hwy 93 in Downtown Arlee

FREE TREES

Good Morning to All-  We have free fruit trees that need and immediate home! These are the excess trees from the tree sale our office helped with this last week. The trees that did not sell were given to us to hand out to anyone who wanted them.  THEY ARE FREE and here at our office in Polson for pickup!

Town Weed Pulling Party

Ron Snyder and Roger Christopher are having a town weed pulling party tomorrow, Saturday, April 28th and would like to invite you to come join the fun.  Meet at the Hangin Art Gallery between 9:30 and 10:00 and help pull up those weeds while the ground is nice and wet.  Bring a pair of gloves.

Janet McGahan's art Show "Casting Montana" at the Dana Gallery

Arlee resident and Killdeer Artisan's Guild member Janet McGahan has a show at the Dana Gallery of 24 new watercolors and oil paintings as well as some older work .  Her work will be on display through April so, if you have a chance go take a look.  The Dana Gallery is located at 246 N. Higgins Ave. (corner of Higgins and Broadway) in Missoula.

Lake County Parks and Trails Survey

Lake County is in the process of collecting data regarding parks and trail usage by county residence.  A part of the process involves county residents completing a survey which addresses what parks and trails facilities they use and what they would like to see developed.  Please take a moment to fill out the survey.  You can go to www.surveymonkey.com/s/Parks_Trails or click on the attached link and fill out the survey by hand and mail it into the address listed at the end of the survey.

Community meeting on preventing risk factors for diabetes for children

Please come to a meeting at the Tribal Senior Center on Bitterroot Jim Rd in the Arlee Home sites on Wednesday, April 25th from 6pm-7pm.

To learn more about a project that develops and implements strategies that prevents risk factors for diabetes in children in the Arlee community by getting them to be more physically active.

WE NEED YOUR HELP AND INPUT for this project to be successful.

If you are interested in PREVENTING DIABETES IN CHILDREN in the Arlee community this is an important meeting to attend! We will have food and beverages at the meeting.
